Morrison Carbon project
The Morrison Carbon Project, located in Goomalling, Western Australia, has been issued 6,652 Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) under the ACCU Scheme — the first soil carbon project in WA to achieve this milestone.
Landholder Ian Clarke manages the 527-hectare project as part of his mixed farming enterprise, incorporating wheat, barley, lupins, and sheep. Over the past two decades, he has implemented regenerative practices including no-till farming, cover cropping, and the strategic use of biological inputs.
Supported by LawrieCo’s soil health system and AgriProve’s carbon project platform, the Morrison Carbon Project proves that long-term commitment to soil health can deliver measurable carbon outcomes, improved productivity, and a new income stream for the future.
Project Highlights:
• First soil carbon project in Western Australia to be issued credits
• 6,652 ACCUs issued under the ACCU Scheme
• Improved soil health and farm resilience through no-till and biological inputs
Results
By integrating no-till farming, cover cropping, and biological inputs, the Morrison Carbon Project has significantly improved soil function, water retention, and on-farm biodiversity. These regenerative practices have supported stronger crops, healthier soils, and greater system resilience.
The project also enabled year-round sheep grazing through multispecies companion pastures, reducing reliance on synthetic inputs and boosting productivity.
Ian Clarke: “Adrian, Rodney and the LawrieCo team have been with me every step of the way. Their support gave me the confidence to back biology and now carbon. It’s working—our soils are alive, crops are stronger, and we’ve opened up a whole new revenue stream.”
WHY AGRIPROVE
AgriProve uses data driven tools and unique financing mechanisms to make regenerative grazing accessible and profitable for farmers. Partnering with landholders and industry leaders to mutually benefit from carbon project success. Our unique ACCU success fee model removes the risk and creates a true partnership for the entirety of the project.
Utilising AgriProve’s innovative, digitally enabled Soil Organic Carbon (SOC) model project partners benefit from the expedited soil sampling and carbon crediting process.
“The Clarke family’s success is a powerful example of what AgriProve is here to do — enable Australian farmers to build better soils, better farms, and better profits. Ian’s long-term commitment to soil health has now delivered measurable climate outcomes and opened up a new revenue stream through carbon credits. We’re proud to have supported this milestone for Western Australia and congratulate the Clarkes on leading the way for others to follow.”
