What do worms have to do with soil carbon? More than you’d think.

AgriProve is pleased to welcome Worms Downunder to the AgriProve Marketplace, where farmers can access verified, soil-health solutions that support productivity and carbon outcomes - with two new additions helping farmers improve soil health, productivity, and soil carbon outcomes.

Under the Australian Government’s soil carbon methodology, one of the eligible activities for a soil carbon project is “applying nutrients to the land in the form of a synthetic or non-synthetic fertiliser (from eligible sources) to address a material deficiency.”

Biological inputs such as worm-based fertilisers meet this requirement by correcting nutrient limitations while rebuilding soil structure. Worms Downunder’s approach provides natural, microbe-rich fertility that restores soil balance and enhances long-term carbon storage.

Their Worm Brew is a living liquid fertiliser brewed from premium worm castings and loaded with diverse, beneficial microbes. Each batch is DNA-tested to ensure biological diversity and quality, helping unlock nutrients already trapped in the soil, improve structure and water retention, and accelerate the formation of stable carbon. Used as a seed dressing, foliar spray, fertigation, or soil drench, Worm Brew activates the soil food web - turning residues and nutrients into long-term carbon stores while boosting productivity above ground. Together with Worm Brew, farmers can also generate their own biological inputs using The Worm Mod.

The Worm Mod complements this by giving farmers the ability to create their own on-farm supply of biological inputs. The modular, high-capacity system transforms organic waste such as manure, hay, and compost into microbe-rich worm castings that feed soil biology and improve soil structure. Each unit can process up to 20 litres of organic waste a day, helping farmers close the loop on nutrients while reducing waste and emissions.

Together, Worm Brew and The Worm Mod represent practical tools that help farmers put Soil First — building healthy, living soils that support both productivity and measurable carbon outcomes. The AgriProve Marketplace brings these solutions together for landholders looking to strengthen the soil carbon cycle and boost on-farm resilience… and if your soil’s feeling flat, pour it a Worm Brew.
