  • Andrew Bremner named as AgriProve’s foundational National Innovation Manager

29 June 2022: Australia’s leading soil carbon developer AgriProve has appointed its first National Innovation Manager, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to harnessing and driving innovation, technology and research in the rapidly expanding field of soil carbon farming.

The appointment of Andrew Bremner reflects AgriProve’s pioneering vision to grow value for partnering farmers through sustained and strategic investments in developing scalable, smart farming solutions.

Unlocking the transformative potential embedded in soil carbon farming is personal for Mr Bremner, having grown up on a 4th generation Victorian dairy farm with his family. Beginning his career with a degree in mechanical engineering from Monash, Andrew worked with agricultural equipment and technology for 14 years at John Deere before making a move into precision agriculture with PCT Agcloud.

In addition to Andrew’s appointment, in May AgriProve appointed Ferhod Sarmed as inaugural Chief Technology Officer and the team continues to grow, with soil carbon experts currently on the ground supporting farmers across every state in Australia. AgriProve is actively recruiting 6 more team members now to service both existing and forecasted demand before the end of 2022.

“Given the rapidly evolving nature of the agtech landscape, it’s great that AgriProve is attracting the best talent to deliver positive outcomes for our partnering farmers and our planet. Innovation is crucial to our success, and this appointment serves to build on the tremendous breadth of experience that sets our team apart.”

“As AgriProve’s National Innovation Manager, Andrew joins a team that share a personal drive to challenge and improve conventional farming practices, growing value through scalable ways of farming better.”

“Soil carbon is a rapidly evolving area and we need to ensure Australia continues to lead the way in delivering for our farmers, our biodiversity, our economy and our environment. Now more than ever we need research that is informed by current technology and biological pathways to productivity.”

Quotes attributable to AgriProve National Innovation Manager Andrew Bremner (available for interview):

“Improving farming systems improves environments because of their symbiotic relationship.  Innovation drives improvement, but also involves uncertainty and we need to overcome apprehension related to change. I understand this mindset shift as I experienced it myself on my family farm.”

“Initially my father and I felt like our farm was shrinking as we changed our land management strategy. Through planting trees and fencing waterways, the net result was less land for grazing but better land overall, and better outcomes for the herd as they had more shelter underneath our new trees. Different ecosystems started to evolve with more pollinators, birds and other life.  However I had to see it to believe it.”

“My experience informs my approach to powering even more innovation at AgriProve. We’re developing tools that digitise landscape management, enabling our partnering farmers to leverage new technology and transform raw data into measurable actions that enhance farm productivity and resilience through soil carbon sequestration.”

“AgriProve isn’t developing technology for technology’s sake, we’re harnessing new technology to solve existing problems for the farmers we work with, providing a pathway to regenerative farming that’s accessible by design.”

“AgriProve’s macro thinking is how we truly move the needle on climate change, locally, nationally and globally.”
