Alexandra de Blas is an award-winning science communicator who began working in the carbon space in 2018. Her boutique consultancy, de Blas Communications, supports organisations committed to restoring, imagining and building a sustainable future. During the eight years she presented and produced Earthbeat, ABC Radio National’s environment program, she received six international and national awards including: The 3rd World Water Forum Journalist’s prize, Kyoto, Japan and the United Nations Association of Australia World Environment Day Award.

She has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Sydney, First Class Honours in Environmental Studies from the University of Tasmania and received the inaugural Vincent Fairfax Ethics in Leadership Award. She grew up on a farm in Tasmania’s Derwent Valley producing hops and superfine wool. Her media career began as an ABC rural reporter in Longreach, Outback Queensland.
